UMIAA’s COVID Fund and Social Impact Project
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UMIAA raised a COVID fund in 2021 to support various initiatives. Building on this effort, a social impact project was conducted in 2022, involving students from several schools, including Visakha Valley School, APL Global School, Sadhbhavna World School, Reeds World School, Symbiosis International School, and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan International School.
Project Overview
Students were divided into seven groups and tasked with developing innovative solutions to address social issues such as organ donation and mental health. Their creative and impactful ideas were then supported by UMIAA through charitable contributions to the following NGOs:
- Bhumi
- Doctors for You
- Project Mumbai
- YUWA
- Miracle Foundation
These NGOs were instrumental in implementing the students’ solutions, making a tangible difference in their respective fields.
Acknowledgments
Certificates were awarded to all student groups who successfully completed their projects in collaboration with their assigned NGOs. Special thanks to TNI Career Counselling for their crucial role in facilitating this project.
This initiative not only provided valuable learning experiences for the students but also contributed significantly to addressing pressing social issues during a challenging time.
